How come there are not that many M rated games or rated T games on the Wii console?

I am a 18 year old Nintendo gamer and i have been buying and playing Nintendo from the N64, The Gamecube and the Wii and right when i Visited ign.com and saw the release dates for wii games all i saw are lame boring crappy kid games and family plus casual games and those games are not worth . Rated M games and Rated T games always get great reviews. I have SSMB, The legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, RE4 wii edition, Metroid prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii and they are greats that got fantastic reviews but rihgt now there are not Wii games worth . The Wii is supposed to revolutionized gameing but right it is the current next-gen with the lamest games of all 3 consoles. The Wii is meant for eveyone and just younger audiences and casual gamers. Nintendo E3 conferences are so lame and boring and when i watch x-play i wanted too hear about Nintendo and the Wii and i don’t hear or see anything about the wii. They always talk about games for the 360 and PS3 while they show the Wii with disrespect. The Wii has more sales than the 360 and Ps3 but nobody respects it. and the Wii has become boring to play because there are not that many great games to play this holiday season

I know! the T rated games that they do make are the best but they aren’t making enough of them! hopefully they’ll start making more of em.

The Wii is supposed to be a kid-friendly system for the most part, and Nintendo doesn’t want to be smart and put T and M games on it so that more people will buy it. I had the Wii for a long time and the only games that I played on it were RE4, RE Umbrella Chronicles, Ghost Squad, Mario Galaxy, and some of my old Gamecube favorites. Then I went ahead and bought the PS3 and it was like drinking Coke after years of drinking mud. (Sorry about the crappy metaphor.) You can see a significant difference in the amount of T and M games on other consoles and that’s why I switched over.
But it seems to me that Nintendo is making a stupid move here and they are killing the system for older gamers. But who knows, maybe soon they’ll start churning out more T and M games and I’ll slowly gravitate back to Nintendo again.

Welcome to the land of the Wii! :D

The wii console is all for the younger generation. But it’s still fun from time to time. I’d say, get a PS3 (my fav console <3). Theres lots of Mrated games for it like GTA4. You’d be happy you have it. Better that then sticking to random wii games. haha.

The Wii is no tmeant for absolutley hardcore gamers, and has a more family- based gaming system. HOWEVER, there are enough good games for the Wii to go around. The games you have, I have also, and I got more memories, experiences, and overall had more fun than I haave playing most other games on other systems. I agree, however tha the
Wii needs good games; don’t worry, Tales of Symphonia 2 is coming out. That should satisfy you.

The wii console was designed to get family involved, and not many parents want to play Grand Theft Auto IV with their 7 yr old. lol

Well, you have some very twisted views on ratings. Not all T & M rated games are great. They can be good, or bad. Violence isn’t a selling point, for some, it may be a reason to skip the game. Look at the reviews, not the ESRB ratings. By only buying "mature", you’re missing out on fantastic E rated games, such as De Blob, Boom Blox, Zack & Wiki, World of Goo (Wiiware), and more.
